Join me for an afternoon learning how to create beautiful hand-lettered gift tags and festive messages using brush pens in this modern, relaxed style of calligraphy. So Christmassy!
 
Modern calligraphy is creative and expressive way to letter - and using a brush tip even more so. In this workshops you will learn the calligraphy rules - and how to break them - to create your own unique, fun style. It’s all about enjoying the process!
 
In this workshop we will learn the essentials of modern calligraphy - starting with beginner brush strokes and mark making. You'll be practicing upper and lowercase letterforms, and then eventually joining them into words and phrases.
 
Using the techniques you've learnt you will create your own beautifully hand lettered pieces you'll be proud of.
 
A brush lettering starter kit is included used in the workshop so you can keep practicing and creating at home - and as well as guiding the whole class with demonstrations and instructions, I will be there to provide you with one-on-one tuition and troubleshooting any issues you may come across.
 
A Black brush pen, lettering guides, upper and lowercase alphabet templates, and calligraphy templates are all included + kraft and white gift tags to complete your brush calligraphy final pieces.
 
These Saturday afternoon workshops are 3 hours (1pm-4pm) and are held in the private dining room at Megan’s, 22 Chequer Street, central St Albans, AL13YD
 
For your info, the calligraphy room is on the 1st floor of Megans, and is only accessible by stairs.
 
Please note, tickets are non-refundable once booked. However, In some instances I may be able to transfer bookings to another date if available.
